Another priority for KsAWWA this coming year is to support and strengthen our committees, which devote considerable time and effort to accomplishing our mission. They will be reviewing their activities to be sure they are focusing on the tasks that matter most, and recruiting new committee members to support on-going efforts or to pursue new initiatives. Volunteers are welcome. Please contact me or the appropriate committee chair if you would like to become involved with a particular committee - or if you think we need a new committee to address a particular need. Our annual conference is one of our most important means of accomplishing our mission. Our next annual conference is scheduled to be held August 27-29, 2013, at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita. This will be our 5th annual joint conference organized together with our good friends in the Kansas Water Environment Association. Please mark this conference on your calendar and make it a point to join us to learn new things, share experiences, network, and enjoy good times together. Bruce Allman, Chair-Elect of KsAWWA, will be co-chairing the Program Committee and will be sending out a call for presentations by the end of 2012. Please feel free to your suggestions for sessions, guest speakers, and conference-related activities to either me or Bruce. We hope to see you there! Steve
